Making art with the world around you

A New Medium

This was my second semester at USM and I had already dabbled in graphic design, 3D design, and ceramics, but this class was very different from the rest. Photography was a tough one. You didn’t draw or design or build. You used the work around you to make art, which was a concept that didn’t immediately click. Below are 4 of the photos from that class. Some dealt with photo grain, others contrast and types of lighting. My favorite was of the ceiling windows of the dance building on campus. Its cool how something simple and often ignored could make such a cool composition.
